Clark A. Jablon focuses his practice primarily in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the software and computer field. Clark employs a unique hands-on approach with clients, involving the inventors in the entire claim drafting process which results in higher quality patents. While Clark works with large and small clients, he has extensive experience in assisting technology startups and has developed a novel approach in working with first-time inventors to help them create quality invention disclosures that are needed for preparing the patent applications. Clients also benefit from Clark’s eight years of experience as a Patent Examiner which provides the extra edge that is often needed to get winning results.
Clark A. Jablon is a founder of Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel, LLP and is a registered patent attorney.
Clark focuses his practice on all phases of patent prosecution, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications, preparing patentability and infringement opinions, conducting intellectual property due diligence investigations and providing litigation support for patent cases. He is experienced in all phases of electronics, computer hardware and software, Internet technologies and computer-implemented business methods. Clark is also experienced in Inter Partes Review (IPR) proceedings conducted before the Patent Trial & Appeals Board (PTAB).
Clark has more than 30 years of experience in patent law, including eight years in the public sector as a Patent Examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He was named in the 2010-2021 editions of Chambers USA.
Prior to founding Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel, LLP, Clark was Counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. Previously, Clark was an associate at Panitch Schwarze Jacobs & Nadel, and a Patent Agent at Seidel, Gonda, Lavorgna & Monaco, P.C.
Clark received his B.E. with honors in electrical engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and his J.D. from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association.
Clark has written and lectured extensively in the area of patent procurement and computer-implemented business methods and is a leading practitioner in the U.S. for procurement of computer-implemented business method patents.
His technology proficiencies include computer software/computer hardware, business methods, including financial applications and e-commerce internet technologies, electronic devices and hardware circuitry, aArtificial intelligence/ machine learning/ natural language processing, “Big Data” management, monetization of video streaming content, RFID technology, medical imaging software, traffic (roadway) engineering, database replication, gaming equipment, casino management systems, augmented reality in gaming systems, paper and electronic lottery tickets, and lottery ticket management system, network-connected surveillance equipment for target tracking and detection, medication vending and dispensing devices, web browser technology, viewer tracking systems, and advertisement detection using automatic content recognition, cable T.V. technology (e.g., set-top boxes, signal generation/transmission), financial instruments, electronic payment systems, electronic publishing, social networks, clinical trial automation software, cryptography (e.g., encryption), smart cards, digital rights management, check processing, debit processing, data compression, ionization (electrostatic charge/discharge) devices, GPS technology for cell phones and touchpads.
