Seven Pennsylvania intellectual property lawyers ranked among top IP attorneys nationally

PHILADELPHIA (June 2024) – Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel LLP is pleased to announce that the firm and intellectual property attorneys Martin G. Belisario, Travis W. Bliss, Ph.D., Dennis J. Butler, Erin M. Dunston, Jeffrey W. Gluck, Ph.D., Philip L. Hirschhorn, and Keith A. Jones have been included in the 2024 IAM Patent 1000, a guide to firms and attorneys deemed outstanding in the field of patent law.

Belisario assists clients in nearly all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent and trademark procurement; trade secret protection; development and implementation of IP licensing and monetization strategies; advice and opinions relating to issues of patentability, freedom to operate, and infringement; and challenging, defending, and enforcing IP rights in litigations in court and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Butler works with innovators to protect their new developments and enforce their existing intellectual property rights. He has specific experience helping medical device inventors protect their inventions at the US Patent Office and international patent offices, as well as defending against and enforcing intellectual property rights in US Courts, particularly the United States District Court for the District of Delaware and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Dunston focuses her practice on patent procurement, opinions, portfolio strategy, and enforcement, both in district courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). She primarily handles matters in the life science space (small molecules, large molecules, and medical devices), but she has handled projects on subject matter ranging from precipitated silica to vaccines to radiotherapy devices.

Gluck’s legal practice spans a broad range of areas, including patent application and prosecution, IP counseling, providing legal opinions, serving on litigation teams, and appellate litigation. He is a frequent author and speaker on matters relating to patent law and software IP law. His engineering experience includes roles in industry, academia, and government, and he has authored numerous technical papers.

Hirschhorn is an experienced trial lawyer specializing in patent litigation and other intellectual property proceedings, including post-grant proceedings before the PTAB. His extensive experience, spanning more than 30 years, includes bench trials, jury trials, PTAB proceedings, and arbitrations.

Jones focuses his practice on intellectual property and technology litigation, including patent, copyright, trademark, unfair competition, and trade secret cases in Federal District Courts across the country and at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also assists clients in Inter Partes Review proceedings before the PTAB, in trademark cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and with patent applications before the USPTO.
