Details: Panitch Schwarze attorney Liliana Di Nola-Baron, Ph.D. will discuss her experience in patent prosecution across the life sciences, biotech, and chemical fields during a presentation for The Lex Fellowship, a global academic program for high-achieving undergraduate students interested in pursuing legal careers.

Di Nola-Baron will provide an overview of an IP law case as well as her work with artificial intelligence. The presentation will explore the intersection of science, technology, and the law.

Di Nola-Baron is a seasoned patent attorney. Her practice encompasses drafting and prosecuting US and international patents, managing patent portfolios, performing due diligence analyses, and preparing patentability, infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions. She leverages her experience as a patent practitioner and as a former patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, as well as her background in molecular biology, immunology, and plant biochemistry to advise clients on intellectual property issues and coordinate national and international patent prosecution strategies. She has worked extensively with start-ups and established companies across the life sciences sector and in the food and beverage, agriculture, clean tech and renewable, artificial intelligence, and other industries.

The Lex Fellowship connects students from top-tier universities with immersive, hands-on legal experiences and exposure to diverse legal careers. Participants travel abroad in pre-law programs, rotating to different law firms each day to gain an understanding of the life of a lawyer in a variety of fields.
