Details: Panitch Schwarze attorney Dennis J. Butler will speak at the Invent Penn State Venture & IP Conference, an event co-sponsored by the firm. The session will focus on important intellectual property considerations that will help startups grow their business and protect their assets. Panelists will discuss the basic legal concepts that are vital to technological innovation.

Butler works with innovators to protect their new developments and enforce their existing intellectual property rights. He has specific experience helping medical device inventors protect their inventions at the US Patent Office and international patent offices, as well as defending against and enforcing intellectual property rights in US Courts, particularly the United States District Court for the District of Delaware and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

The Invent Penn State Venture & IP Conference highlights innovations from high-growth and emerging markets including IT, energy, advanced manufacturing, biotechnology, healthcare, B2B, and B2C, among others. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in Venture Connection, an event in which investors host tables to meet with entrepreneurs who have been matched with them based on capital needs, industry, and other key criteria. Participants will also have the chance to attend Penn State’s Tech Tournament, a showcase of disruptive technologies and early-stage companies born of Penn State’s research enterprise.
