Title:	UPC Update
Description:	The Unified Patent Court began processing cases on June 1, 2023, at the same time it became possible to obtain a Unitary Patent – a single patent right providing protection across many of the EU member states. Since the start of this new system, there have been nearly 24,000 requests for unitary patent protection and over 300 actions filed in front of the Unified Patent Court. This presentation will provide a brief background to the system as well as a series of key takeaways about how to take full advantage of the new options available to patentees. The focus will be on the unique selling points to applicants active in Europe and how they can, hopefully, prepare for and benefit from the new opportunities.
