Martin Herzog studied chemistry and law at the Philipps-Universität Marburg, University of Hagen and University of Strasbourg, polymer science and engineering at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (USA), graduating with a M.Sc., before obtaining a doctorate at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung. He started his career in the field of intellectual property in 1993 and has worked in Düsseldorf in private practice since 2000.
Dr. Herzog has worked as a management consultant, in law firms and in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry as head of a patent department. His areas of expertise include in particular the protection, defence, licensing and litigation of inventions in pharmaceuticals, chemistry, material sciences and process technology as well as in strategic IP management and in due diligence and freedom to operate analyses, and in patent-related work for mergers and acquisitions.
Dr. Aleandri studied Biology and Chemistry at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania graduating with a bachelor degree. She received at Ph.D. from Iowa State University in the field of solid state inorganic chemistry. Thereafter she worked at the Max-Planck-Institut für Festkörperforschung and at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung. Dr. Aleandri started her career in the field of intellectual property by undertaking Advances Studies in Intellectual Property at the Humboldt University in Berlin, then joining in 1996 the law firm Bardehle, Pagenberg, Dost, Frohwitter, Geissler in Munich as a trainee patent attorney candidate. After becoming a German and a European Patent Attorney, she worked from 2000 to 2014 in the European intellectual property department of a global, diversified technology company headquartered in US, handling IP matters in a number of technology areas including medical devices, medicinal delivery products, materials science, and separation technology. In addition, she held IP training sessions at various research and production facilities across Europe.
In 2015, she joined Herzog Fiesser & Partner. Dr. Aleandri works in all fields of IP law and her areas of expertise include protection of inventions, oppositions (defensive and offensive), appeals, freedom-to-operate opinions, litigation and due diligence. Additionally, Dr. Aleandri has a postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law from King’s College London, University of London.
