Presentation: When Bad Things Happen to Good IP: Managing Infringement, Usurpation and Other Transgressions of Your Intellectual Property

A recent spate of initial public offerings, high-profile mergers and acquisitions, and litigation has thrust intellectual property (IP) into a critical position in domestic and global economics. Preserving the value of IP is an increasingly complex process, and the risk and expense of IP disputes continues to increase. In this CLE, a panel of IP attorneys review optimal methods to maintain and enforce IP rights, as well as avoid claims of infringement.

This CLE will focus on effective strategies to manage the process and address issues such as:
– Common pitfalls of USPTO post-grant patent proceedings
– Efficient resolution of trademark and domain name disputes
– Strategies to detect and deter trademark infringers

Alan S. Nadel – Mr. Nadel, a patent attorney for over 30 years, a founding partner of the Philadelphia intellectual property boutique Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel LLP. Mr. Nadel is experienced in all aspects of patent matters involving bioscience, chemical, and mechanical inventions.
