17th Annual Advanced Patent Law Institute
Date & Time: Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 2:30 PM CT
Details: Panitch Schwarze partner Erin M. Dunston will participate in a program entitled “Tips for Oral Arguments Before the PTAB” presented by the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School as part of the 17th Annual Advanced Patent Law Institute.
The program will explore practice tips for those appearing at hearings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), as well as attributes and advantages of the Legal Experience and Advancement Program (LEAP). Dunston will be joined by Hon. Janet Gongola of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in Alexandria, VA.
Dunston focuses her practice on patent procurement, opinions, enforcement (both in district courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board), and portfolio strategy. With clients ranging from individual inventors to large, multi-national companies, Dunston tailors her approach to each client’s goals. Dunston’s matters are primarily in the life science space (small molecules, large molecules, and medical devices), but she has handled projects on subject matter ranging from precipitated silica to vaccines to radiotherapy devices.
The Advanced Patent Law Institute is a three-day program that offers a unique opportunity to hear from USPTO senior staff, leading practitioners, academics, and members of the federal judiciary on the latest developments in patent law.
