The session will focus on recent plant IP litigations filed in the U.S. that provide insights into such issues as the use of biological deposits and online enforcement. Bliss will discuss the details of these recent cases and the lessons that horticulture businesses can learn from them.
Bliss assists clients throughout the entire IP process, from strategy development, counseling, and opinions; to procurement of appropriate IP rights (patents, trademarks, trade secrets); to monetization of those assets through development and implementation of effective IP licensing strategies; and, finally, to enforcing, defending, and challenging IP rights through litigations in court and before the USPTO. His technology focus is largely on the life sciences, animal and plant health and genetics, agriculture, horticulture, and cannabis industries.
CIOPORA is a community of breeders of asexually reproduced horticultural plants. It is globally accepted as an independent non-profit and non-governmental organization seeking to establish effective IP protection systems for horticulture.
