Details: Panitch Schwarze attorney Travis W. Bliss, Ph.D. will discuss tools and techniques to combat plant IP infringement during the CIOPORA Academy Workshop. The session is titled “Advancing Plant Variety Protection in China: Strategic Enforcement of PBRs.”

Bliss will discuss the types of IP rights that are most helpful in identifying and combatting online infringers, including the importance of having mixed IP rights (e.g., plant variety rights and trademark rights in multiple jurisdictions). He will also explore techniques that can be used to help strengthen a case when identifying online infringers.

Bliss assists clients throughout the entire IP process, from strategy development, counseling, and opinions; to procurement of appropriate IP rights; to monetization of those assets; and, finally, to enforcing IP rights through litigations in court and before the USPTO.
