Details: Panitch Schwarze attorney Erin M. Dunston will speak at IPWatchdog’s Fourth Annual Patent Trial & Appeal Board (PTAB) program, an event co-sponsored by the firm. Dunston will participate in a session titled “Ethics and IPR: Staying Out of Trouble at the PTAB.” She will be joined by IPWatchdog President & CEO Gene Quinn.

The session will focus on ethics rules and rules of the PTAB that relate to representing parties before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), obligations of candor toward the USPTO, proper decorum when dealing with the Office, sanctions the PTAB can levy in the case of various improper actions by counsel, and ethics investigations by the Office of Enrollment & Discipline.

Dunston focuses her practice on patent procurement, opinions, enforcement (both in district courts and before the PTAB), and portfolio strategy. With clients ranging from individual inventors to large, multi-national companies, Dunston tailors her approach to each client’s goals. Her matters are primarily in the life science space (small molecules, large molecules, and medical devices), but she has handled projects on subject matter ranging from precipitated silica to vaccines to radiotherapy devices.

IPWatchdog’s PTAB program features discussions on all aspects of the PTAB practice led by highly experienced practitioners and top thought leaders in the industry. IPWatchdog is recognized as one of the leading sources for news, information, analysis, and commentary in the patent and innovation industries.
