Details: Panitch Schwarze partner Erin M. Dunston will participate in a panel discussion on inter partes review (IPR) challenges during IPWatchdog’s Third Annual Patent Trial & Appeal Board (PTAB) program. The panel, titled “Tactics & Strategies: Crafting the IPR Petition,” is co-sponsored by Panitch Schwarze, and panelists include Tim Fink from O’Melveny & Myers, Lori Gordon from Perkins Coie, and Scott McKeown from Ropes & Gray.
The session will cover the changes to the IPR process in the wake of the recent reduction of discretionary denials. The panelists will discuss such topics as the proper use and content for the expert declaration, what should be included in the petition versus the expert declaration, and other strategic decisions facing
petitioners.
An experienced IP attorney, Dunston focuses her practice on patent procurement, opinions, enforcement, and portfolio strategy. Her matters are primarily in the life science space (small molecules, large molecules, and medical devices), and she has handled projects on subjects ranging from precipitated silica to vaccines to radiotherapy devices.
