Intellectual property attorney Bijal Shah-Creamer focuses her practice on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, opinion work on patent validity and infringement, due diligence, and patentability analyses, primarily in the chemical arts.
Bijal’s practice also involves IP litigation including patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, trade secrets, computer fraud and abuse, and licensing/contract disputes. She has litigated cases involving a wide variety of industries and technologies, including polymeric materials, gaming devices, metallurgical measurement devices, and various types of industrial designs.
Since 2012, she has been recognized by Thomson Reuters, publishers of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers, as a “Rising Star.”
Prior to joining Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel LLP and starting her legal career, Bijal was employed as a project engineer at Golder Associates, an international environmental consulting firm, where she developed site remediation plans and landfill designs, performed environmental compliance work, and was engaged in various licensing activities.
Bijal received her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Drexel University and her law degree from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, where she was a member of the Temple Law Review.
She is a member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania bars, is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and a member of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. Bijal also is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
