PHILADELPHIA (March 2024) – Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel LLP is pleased to announce that intellectual property attorney Jeffrey W. Gluck, Ph.D. has been re-appointed to the Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI)’s Standing Committee on Standards and Patents. The committee monitors, comments, and advises AIPPI on policy, regulatory, and legal frameworks relating to standards and patents.

AIPPI is a nonprofit association dedicated to the development and improvement of laws for the protection of intellectual property. It is based in Switzerland with over 8000 members worldwide from over 110 countries. AIPPI operates by conducting studies of existing national laws and proposes measures to achieve harmonization of these laws on an international basis.

As a member of the committee, Gluck monitors developments in various standard-setting organizations, as well as case law, regulations, and antitrust law developments in various jurisdictions. He advises the organization on emerging issues in the field that merit an AIPPI position and identifies possible avenues for cooperation with other non-governmental organizations in the field. Gluck has served as an engineering researcher and as an intellectual property attorney over the course of his career. His legal practice spans a broad range of areas, including patent application and prosecution, IP counseling, providing legal opinions, serving on litigation teams, and appellate litigation. He is a frequent author and speaker on matters relating to patent law and software IP law. His engineering experience includes roles in industry, academia, and government, and he has authored numerous technical papers. While his technical background lies in the electrical and computer areas, Gluck has successfully pursued work relating to a much broader range of topics, from vehicle steering and braking systems to shoes to gaming to business and finance.
