Description:

There are many different types of patent searches that help individual inventors and businesses, ranging from preliminary patentability searches to determine if an invention may be patentable, to sophisticated validity, infringement, freedom-to-operate and due diligence searches.

This presentation will discuss when, why and how to do these and other types of searches, including the strategy involved in considering what type to do, and how to interpret the results.

There will be a presentation by Mr. Poul-Erik Nielsen, of the Danish Patent and Trademark Office, who will explain the capabilities and provide other information about the timely, customized types of searches that the Danish Patent and Trademark Office can do for others than only those who apply for Danish patents. The Danish Patent and Trademark Office has been providing intellectual property research services for non-applicants for more than 20 years.
