PHILADELPHIA –Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel Counsel Christina Frangiosa served as chair of the annual ABA Intellectual Property Law Section’s Committee Meeting on Trademark Legislation. The topics discussed at the meeting include the recently passed amendment to the Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA), the USPTO's request for comments on abusive trademark practices, codifying fair use for infringement claims in the trademark context, and the debate on new legislation proposed in both the Senate (S. 603) and the House (HR 1166) to deny registration of marks seized by Cuban Government seeking rights in US.
