Louis Sickles prepares and prosecutes patent applications, prepares patentability and infringement opinions and provides technical litigation support. Before joining Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel, Mr. Sickles was senior counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP and an associate Panitch Schwarze Jacobs & Nadel, P.C. Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Sickles held engineering management positions with RCAlGE/Martin Marietta Government Communications Systems and RCA Advanced Technology Laboratories, where he was responsible for the design and development of computer-controlled information processing systems and radio, wire and satellite communications equipment. While at RCA Advanced Technology Laboratories, Mr. Sickles was awarded the David Sarnoff Fellowship. Mr. Sickles has been granted five U.S. patents and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of New Jersey. Mr. Sickles received his B.S.E.E. from Lehigh University in 1957, his M.S.E.E. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1963 and his J.D. from the Rutgers University School of Law in 1997. Mr. Sickles is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association.
