Dr. Hsing specializes in patent related issues in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical arts. Her practice involves the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, opinion work on patent validity and infringement, due diligence, rights to operate and patentability analyses, as well as technical support for patent litigation.

Prior to joining Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel, Dr. Hsing was an attorney at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. Before joining Akin Gump, Dr. Hsing was an attorney in the Life Science Transactions Group of Reed Smith LLP., where she focused on both intellectual property and transactional issues of life sciences. She also worked as a patent manager at Johnson & Johnson, where she drafted and prosecuted patent applications, undertook patent and prior art analysis, and assisted in strategic counseling and patent portfolio development and management. Before starting her legal career, Dr. Hsing was a research scientist at Princeton University and a senior scientist at a biotech start-up company.

Dr. Hsing received her B.S. in biology from the University of Science and Technology of China and her PhD. in microbiology from the University of Massachusetts. She had four years of postdoctoral training in genetics and molecular biology at Princeton University, where she was granted Damon-Runyon Cancer Research Postdoctoral Fellowship. She received her J.D. cum laude from Temple University, where she was a member of the Giles S. Rich Intellectual Property Moot Court Team, winning second place in briefs at the regional competition, and where she also won the John J. Mackiewicz Memorial Scholarship in Intellectual Property. She is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars and is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Dr. Hsing is an inventor of biotechnology inventions. She has published various research papers in leading scientific journals including Science and Nature. She is an Executive Council Member of Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (Greater Philadelphia) and a BayHelix member. She was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers magazine "Rising Star" for 2012.
