Mark T. Vogelbacker's practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications, as well as new product clearance and patentability analysis. He concentrates primarily on the mechanical arts, including medical devices, small home appliances, power systems, fuel cell systems, toys, and printing devices.

Mr. Vogelbacker's practice also includes IP litigation where he has been involved in litigating cases in a variety of industries and technologies, including medical devices, electronic commerce, commercial materials, and various types of industrial designs.

Prior to joining Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel LLP, Mr. Vogelbacker was a patent agent at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. He is also a former patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications in Art Unit 3677 (miscellaneous hardware, fasteners, signs). Mr. Vogelbacker began his career as a fluids systems engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, where he preformed design alterations for the piping systems of various Ohio class nuclear-powered submarines.

Mr. Vogelbacker received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He received his J.D. from the Temple University Beasley School of Law while working full-time as a patent agent. Mr. Vogelbacker was awarded the John J. Mackiewicz Scholarship presented to a law student who excels in intellectual property law. He was also a member of Temple's intellectual property moot court team, where he reached the semi-finals in the annual Giles S. Rich Moot Court Competition for appellate brief writing and argument.

He is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
