John Sullivan focuses his practice on trademark, trade dress, and unfair competition law, as well as many areas of intellectual property licensing and litigation.

Mr. Sullivan earned his B.A. and M.A. from Villanova University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was awarded membership in the Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Sigma Alpha, and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. In addition, Mr. Sullivan also studied politics and economics at the University of Oxford as a Connelly-Delouvrier International Scholar. He graduated from the Villanova University School of Law in 2010, where he served as an editor with the Villanova Environmental Law Journal and co-chaired the Journal’s annual environmental law symposium.

Mr. Sullivan has authored or co-authored a number of articles, including: “Searching for Sales: How Keyword Advertising Can Trigger Trademark Infringement Claims,” The Legal Intelligencer (May 28, 2009); “From Martinis to Memos: An Insider’s Guide to Summer Associate Success,” The Legal Intelligencer (June 9, 2009); “Waging War Against i-Pirates and Droid Bandits: How to Develop an Effective Trademark Enforcement Strategy for Online Marketplaces,” The Legal Intelligencer (May 2011); and “Combating Trademark i-Nfringers: Practical Strategies and Solutions for Enforcing Brands in Apps,” The World Trademark Review (forthcoming publication).

Further, he is also an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the International Trademark Association. Mr. Sullivan is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey.
