Laura A. Genovese concentrates her practice on trademark, trade dress, copyright and unfair competition law.

Prior to joining Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel, Ms. Genovese was Senior Counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP. Before joining Akin Gump, Ms. Genovese was of counsel at Cozen O'Connor. She previously was a partner at Woodcock Washburn, LLP, where she headed the trademark/copyright practice group.

Ms. Genovese received her A.B. from Bryn Mawr College, her M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. cum laude from the Villanova University School of Law. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar. She has served as a trustee of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A. (2002-2005) and is a former chairman of its Philadelphia Chapter. She is also an active member of the International Trademark Association. She serves as the executive director and a trustee of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Trust.

A frequent lecturer, Ms. Genovese has also authored or co-authored numerous articles, including "International Registration System Now Available to U.S. Trademark Owners," The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel (November 2003); "International Trademark Registration Now Available in U.S.," BusinessWeek (and associated Web site "Point of Law") (October 27,2003); "When the Computer Industry Held Its Breath," The Pennsylvania Lawyer (September-October 2003); "Work For Hire," Arts and Culture Advocate (November/December 2002); "Master of Your Own Domain Name," Litigation Quarterly (March 6, 2000); and "A Primer on the Anticounterfeiting Consumer Protection Act of 1996," Civil Rico Report (October 30, 1996). In 2003 she was a panelist for Temple University's retrospective examination of Apple v. Franklin, the 3rd Circuit's seminal 1983 computer copyright decision.
